MY SCHOOLING AND USE OF TECHNOLOGY

MY SCHOOLING AND USE OF TECHNOLOGY

In the world that we live in, technology is very important. In my schooling days I never had access to any sort of technology, we relied on books and the information given by teachers. To think that technology is increasingly growing it’s importance in the education sector, and yet the are learners or schools who are not connected like my school is annoying. In my school the was not even a lab not talk of computers or any other resources of technology. Due to the introduction of smart phones, I got own one too and I used it for my school research and projects but unfortunately I could use only at home at my own expense since phones were not allowed at the school premises. This is a proof that South Africa is not doing so great when it comes to education.
The importance of ICT training for teachers must be emphasized, since ICT will and can increase/empower our education system in South Africa. The more technology advances, the more benefits it provides for students at every education level. I believe that the technology that is used in the class room is helping the students to understand and grasp what they have been taught. It would have been much better if I only had access to technology in my schooling days, since it does wonders to the schools that are connected and learners are also getting improved access to educational opportunities.

The ICT programme must touch every school in South Africa, whether in the city or in the village in order to advance our education system. As a student teacher I would like to use ICT in my class, since learners can make use of technology to challenge their many subjects. Furthermore this shows that technology can be incorporated with good number of curriculums. What’s more lovely about technology is that kids who are yet to begin school can get ready by watching number of educational and game videos, this will give them their head start to education.

MY FINAL YEAR AT ZIPHAKAMISENI SECONDARY SCHOOL, MPUMALANGA

MY FINAL YEAR AT ZIPHAKAMISENI  SECONDARY SCHOOL, MPUMALANGA

KwaMhlanga (Phola Park) is an area that is dominated mostly by Ndebele clan and it is known for its vibrant cultural activities. Phola Park is a rural area and has only one secondary school, which is Ziphakamiseni Secondary School. This school was officially opened in 2004 and the first matric production was in 2006. The school is under the Nkangala circuit and was built by the local government. The are less distractions in the area because it still developing.
Geography, Life Sciences, Mathematical Literacy, Tourism, IsiNdbele HL, English FAL. This are the subject that I did and they were quite easy, because I never had difficulty and I always got good marks in tests. I  chose these subjects  not because I am the best at them, but because of their level of interest. Once you learn the basics of attractions, you’ll be so interested that you will want to learn more than what the textbook could offer. Although my best subject is geography, and english just seems to catch my attention more.
I matriculated at Ziphakamiseni Secondary School, the school had no computers not even an organised library. When we learn we relied on the textbook information or the information given by the teachers. Though i still think it would have been better if we had access to any type of technology in our various subjects.

I would like to thank all of my  teachers that have guided me through the steps of education. Some of these teachers are at Ziphakamiseni Secondary  School and some are at the past middle school that I’ve been going to. If it had not been for these teachers, I never would have known what education is capable of.
